Sustainability Advocate

Growing up, Kayla always had an appreciation for the environment. To this day, Kayla protects and nurtures this love for creation. She feels motivated to protect the Earth and to educate others about the importance of doing so. One way that she is doing this today is by leading Oklahoma City University's sustainability club, Blue Goes Green (BGG). In her position, she has helped establish close relationships with community partners, revitalized OCU's community garden, organized various campus events, and advocated for changes to the university's waste management and energy use practices. Additionally, Kayla recently became a College Green Captain through the Broadway Green Alliance. In this position, she hopes to inspire the theatre community to make small changes to minimize the carbon footprint of our performing arts community.

Currently, Kayla is pursuing a minor in environmental science and is excited to see how she may incorporate this passion of hers into her career path in the entertainment industry.
